As the world emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, and in the spirit of our host city's reputation as The Rubber Capital of the World, the theme for this year's meeting is Bouncing Back: Resilience in the Rubber City. On this page, you will find information about the 2023 ORALL Annual Meeting including registration, hotel booking information, schedule of events and programs, things to do in Akron, and more. To register for the 2023 ORALL Meeting, please complete a Registration Form and submit it to Stephanie Ziegler and Susan Azyndar

Opening Reception

The Local Arrangements Committee is excited to welcome you to the ORALL 74th Annual meeting in Akron, Ohio!

The Opening Reception will take place at R. Shea Brewing, Canal Place Downtown from 5 - 9p on Wednesday, Nov. 1st. 

Please note that we do not have official transportation to the opening reception so please plan to drive or carpool. There are a limited number of Uber/Lyft gift cards available, please see Sarah Starnes.

Things to do in akron

Visit Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. - The estate features a historic 65-room Tudor revival Manor House, Gothic Revival Conservatory, Gate Lodge, and approximately 70 acres of artistically landscaped grounds and formal gardens.


We're a brewery town! - For a list of our most popular and common breweries, visit the Summit County Brew Path. From the list, Sarah Starnes would recommend:

  • Missing Mountain Brewery Co. (if the weather is nice)

We're also known for our hiking trails! You can explore the Summit County Metro Parks or the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, if the weather permits.


Visit the Akron Art Museum. - Comprising over 7,000 works from 1850 to present, the Akron Art Museum is home to important works by a broad range of artists in a wide variety of media from across the globe, including sculpture, glass, paintings, photography, digital art, and more. Admission to the galleries is free every Thursday.
